Rhodri joined Lawray in 2006 as a graduate from the Portsmouth School of Architecture. After fulfilling his Part I experience with the Cardiff team he returned to Portsmouth in 2007 to further his Architectural Education, studying for his Diploma. Rhodri has since returned to Lawray in 2009 after completing his Part II, and is now studying towards his Part III RIBA Chartered Membership.
He is an enthusiastic team member, working closely with design teams to produce design and production information for a variety of projects. Rhodri is proficient in a number of design packages including Microstation, Vectorworks and Archicad, producing drawings in both 2D and 3D. In addition, he is able to present professionally in Photoshop and Indesign editing suites. Rhodri also recently passed his CSCS H&S cardholder training.
His experience within the practice and at University to date include:
- ‘The Works' - A Creative and Cultural Centre, Llanelli for CarmarthenshireCounty Council. (2006-2007)
- ‘Art London’ - Urban analysis and regeneration of a proposed masterplan by Allies & Morrison, developing a strategy for the arts within London’s Kings Cross. [University Diploma Project.] (2008)
- ‘Thesis Dissertation’ - A comprehensive written research project into the ‘differences between disciplines of Architecture and Big Art / Sculpture and what happens when they encroach.’ (2008 – 2009)
- ‘Creative Village’ - A proposed ‘Creative Village’, developing a Cultural quarter within Dublin’s Docklands. [University Thesis Project.] (2008 – 2009)
- ‘Aberystwyth Masterplan’ - Future proposal for the University Campus. (2009)
- ‘The Works 2’ - Theatre, Cultural & Community Facilities, Llanelli. (2009)
Rhodri is a fluent Welsh speaker, and his hobbies outside work include playing the guitar in his band Bare Left, photography and socialising.
