Director Rod Wilcox retires from Lawray Architects on 15th November 2010 after 36 years working for the Practice, and more than 40 years in the profession.

Rod has worked at Lawray offices in Cardiff since the Company began in 1974, firstly as one of the design team working on housing, commercial and industrial schemes, becoming an Associate in 1986 and then being promoted to Regional Director at Cardiff in April 2005, finally ending his career as a Board Director.

Rod heads a team of architectural and technical staff providing design services to clients across Wales, recently working on The Mount, an award winning office development within a conservation area, and the refurbishment of St David’s Hospital, Carmarthenshire. 

Whilst at Lawray Rod has been involved in the project management and contract administration of a wide range of projects in the Public and Private sectors including: - schools, leisure facilities, hospitals, commercial and industrial developments, housing and listed buildings.

All Lawrays Directors and staff wish Rod good luck in his retirement and all his future endeavours.

Director Mike Goodall said: “We are all extremely sad to see Rod leaving Lawray Architects and wish him a very long and productive retirement. He has been an extremely highly valued member of staff, and a friend to all who have worked with him.”

Mike Goodall will continue as Director of the Cardiff office, leading projects with the assistance of Regional Director, Mark Robinson, and the design team.

Rod has over 40 years experience of Construction Architecture, joining Lawray in 1974.

His experience involves the project/contract control from inception to final account stage, including co-ordination of professional design teams, feasibility studies, pre contract documentation, contract administration and financial control.

Rod has passed the Construction Skills Health and Safety test and is a CSCS cardholder.
